The GBF Foundation is pleased to launch its first View Point display, centred on the theme “One Object” and presented in a painting-reading format. This intimate, one-room exhibition brings audiences up close to the Bangala Ragaputra folio from a mid-eightenth century Kota Narayana Ragamala series.
Focusing on a single original artwork, the exhibition highlights scientific analysis to reveal the materiality of the painting. A series of technical photographs uncover underdrawings and pigment layers, offering insight into the painting’s structure and a more nuanced understanding of its subject. Microscopic images further reveal minute details that often go unnoticed in normal viewing conditions.
A two-minute animated video guide the viewers through the painting’s pigments, identified through various analysis conducted as part of the study of the object.
We invite you to experience this unique format of painting display and engage with the artwork at a deeper level.
