Musavari: Colors of Tradition

About the Film

Musavari: Colors of Tradition is a journey through Lahore’s rich artistic heritage, set against iconic landmarks like the Wazir Khan Mosque. The film follows painter Murad Khan Mumtaz as he reimagines Ragamala paintings, blending tradition with contemporary vision. Zohaib Hassan’s soulful sarangi performances of Raga Basant capture the emotions of spring, joy and subtle melancholy. Classical maestro Chand Khan offers insights into the raga’s essence, balancing its vibrant and tender notes. Through vivid visuals and intimate storytelling, Musavvari celebrates the timeless connection between art, music, and emotion.
